Situated on property of extraordinary natural beauty, this new custom passive solar home is remarkable for seamlessly integrating the house with the landscape. Large boulders, sourced from the property, link the main entry and wrap around porch with a level lawn.
Large windows in the primary living spaces look out toward a massive rocky ravine. Riverside Design and Build, LLC was inspired to create a 50 foot recirculating waterfall in the ravine. The sight and sound of water gives enormous pleasure from the great room, master bedroom suite, kitchen and extensive terraces along the southern side of the house. The waterfall’s soothing sound can be heard from the entire house and property.
A large overhanging roof, which seems to float above its shadow, and a spacious shady wrap around porch unify the house and communicates substance. These deftly design architectural elements discreetly lessen the visual impact a 9,000 square foot house with six bedrooms and even more baths.
Custom detailing thoughout the house, from cabinetry, wood mouldings, to stair railings, provide a sophisticated level of design detail that is to be expected from Riverside Design and Build, LLC.
